I have a fabia 3 1.9tdi 09 plate, the problem is minor but anoying all the same,the glove compartment light appears to be on all the time causing the above storage department to become hot to the touch,Icannot see any switch operated by the door does anyone know of a concealed door switch or should the light time out?

There is a switch on the right hand side of the glove box.

I have exactly the same problem which as far as I can see has only just started. (Fabia II, 1.6l, 59 plate)

I can't see any switch, is it on the hinge mechanism? If so you would need to dismantle the glove box to get to it.

I've unplugged the light from the lead until I can get to my dealer. The top box was getting extremely hot and I don't want the battery going flat.
