Thinking of selling up

Featured Replies

I'm considering selling the fabia at the end of the month when it's been serviced and got a full MOT for a mk4 astra gsi !

What's peoples thoughts on the said car ? Obviously faster than the fabia but a good move to change ?

Are you mad?

Faster, that you can not use in the UK

The difference in insurance group

Leaving a great Briskoda site for the ARSTRA CLUB

OMG MAD

I think the phrase "Better the devil you know" springs to mind here...

If you fancy an adventure coupled with a higher insurance band and the associated extra costs, then feel free - but unless you've had a LOT of bad luck with the Fab i'd stick it.

It's all personal preference at the end of the day though really.

I was gonna get the Astra GSi, or SRiT, but insurance was a factor for me, which lead me into getting the vRS

asking in a skoda forum if switching to an astra is a good move....

mind boggling :wonder:

i dont know about other people but i generally think astra drivers are absolute c**ks? always trying to floor it off lights etc, usually a downwards motion with the right boot see's them right but i still hate them...................... but obv thats my opinion B)

Mixed opinions then LOL

I've always fancied a mk4 gsi and have the chance of a "good one" but still not sure wether to go for it, I've had no bad luck with the vrs its been a fantastic car but I just have this feeling of wanting a change :|

Insurance is the main thing yeah but I can't see it being that bad.... hmmm we shall see :)

Thanks everyone

Specs on your vrs and price etc just incase? haha

It's already sold if and when the time comes

totally get the wanting a change and if you're not doing diesel miles then petrol turbo makes sense, I'm not personally a fan of Vauxhalls but that's mainly cos I find them a bit bland looking but if you're coming from vRS then it's kinda swings and roundabouts and if you like them then that's really all that matters. Dad had 5 Astras over the last few years and had no issues worth mentioning

so they get away from the lights a bit sharpish and you accelerate to put them in their place and they're the c*ock..?

I think you'll find very few chavs who own them.

There is a couple owned here by chavs in MK. Dont really float my boat, but each to their own.

There's one a few houses down from me (a very hot girl drives it actually ;) ). Every time I see it I like it, completely standard exterior except for subtle tints. Before I bought the Fab I nearly bought an Ashtray Mk5 1.8 SRI with the VX styling pack. When I drove it and realised it was a LOT slower than the fabia mid range, which is where I prefer my power to be I knew it was the Fab I wanted!

Have a drive of it, if you like it then go for it. Interior in the mk4 is a little basic though. Consider residual value as well, may be good due to it being a GSI (y)

I've been out for a drive in the gsi, it's had a remap (270 bhp), milltek exhaust and various other bits and pieces and it goes extremely well :D

I want it but I just have this feeling I will really regret selling the fabia I think that might be because I still do quite a few miles ! aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh :(

my friend has a gsi remapped he loves the car hates the costs, hes 23 and they are pricing the insurance stupidly high, plus parts and servicing is very expensive for a vauxhall, also he gets through a tank of petrol more than once a week and thats even when he is driving as frugal as posible in a car of that type, if you do alot of mileage i would stick to the skoda or even invest in a octy vrs if you want a bit more of a thrill!

Love Astra Gsi's !

If you're bored of the Fabia, then why not !

I think it would be a nice change, and dare i say it, they're not as common as a Fabia vRS either (in the sense that you dont see many)
