Remote central locking!

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm looking to get a second hand fabia 1 and i've found one that is actually really good value for money, unfortunately it doesn't have remote central locking, just key.

My question is does anyone know what sort of cost it would be to have the remote locking installed by someone, e.g. skoda themselves at a skoda garage. As i don't really know enough about cars to trust myself to try and fit one myself!

Thanks in advance!

I've seen remote locking kits on a few webstores but no Idea how to install them.

My best guess was if you did get a remote locking kit, take it to a garage / body shop place where all the Chavtastics go to get there new bumpers fitted and ask them to do it.

I installed one of the Rclick kits on my old Polo.

If you take a methodological approach to the job, it's relatively straight forward.

It's really just a case of identifying the correct wires, then fitting them with the supplied cable crimps.

A multimeter is quite a handy thing to have as well, as despite coming with coloured wiring diagrams, mine were the wrong way round in the loom.

for a auto spark to supply and fit a remote locking kit about £90 ...
