engine failure on stop TSI 1.4 DSG

Featured Replies

My new Octavia 1.4 TSI DSG is now after 2500 miles.

From time to time the engine turns off on stopping,It doesn't happen a lot (except today twice... )

I red on another site,a client which had the same problem, went to the dealer, they said they restarted the computer,

according to him with no help...

I wonder if any one had the same problem...??

Thanks

Yaniv

I haven't had the same problem, but it sounds to me like the controller for the clutch on your DSG gearbox might not be disengaging the clutch soon enough when you are stopping and the engine is stalling. Try to find out if it only does this when you are doing certain things such as stopping slowly or quickly, the more information you can get the better and quicker the diagnosis should be.

Thanks Ian,

It will only happen on a fast stop, and again only from time to time.

Usually not...

Hi Yaniv,

It does sound to me like the clutch isn't being disengaged quickly enough when you come to a quick stop and the electronics are not making the anti-stall react quickly enough too, do you think that you would be able to change your driving style a little bit so that you slow down quickly but release the brakes a little just before you come to a halt. that way the electronics should cope better and you give yourself and your passengers a smoother ride, I think that they may like that instead of a "rough ride" :giggle:

If no joy there then it may be a trip to the dealers to see what they can do, but they may charge you for diagnostics even under warranty.

maybe its the mechatronics that are playing up as i've read on other peoples comments?

Hi, I'm from Turkey,

My new 1000 km Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI DSG was stopped 4 times in a week while driving. I wentt o Dealer and car plugged to computer but did not have a any records.

After that stuations, my car stopped again and DSG signal was flashed on dashboard (d3-d2-d4-d3) and stopped, again i went to dealer and plugged to computer and we found " gear shift error 2 " and car firmware upgraded.

2 days ago, again my car stopped while driving, again plugged to comp. and we didn't see any error log :(

Dealer didnt solve problem, and they opened the case to Skoda manufacturer. I'm waiting response from dealer. I will share to coming information.
