Rear Speakers Yeti sometimes resonating.

Featured Replies

High, wonder whether other Yeti owners in combination with the Bolero head unit and 8 speakers ex factory

have the following problem.

When I play a cd's and or mp3 files with music that contains very low frequences the left side door starts to

resonate, this occurs at a higher volume level.

I have no idea if it is the speaker it self or that the a metal part of the door causes this.

on the dutch Skoda site already 3 people expierenced the same, one went to the dealer and you

can almost imagine what the response "strange never came accros this issue before on any Skoda"

thanks.

I'm not sure whether you have a real problem as in pretty much any car the speakers will rattle when the volume is too high, unless you have a really good set of speakers and / or the door trim is tightly screwed together.

The power of the amplifiers in modern car stereos is quite high, they can be too loud for the car in everyday use. I would take the car to a specialist car entertainment centre and see what they say, if you want to listen to music loud, especially music with plenty of bass you may need a better set of speakers. They may not cost that much either as usually the kit that car manufacturers supply isn't bad - but is not the best. Speakers are also easy to replace.

You could try looking at forums to do with stereo etc as those guys must do weird things to make the doors rattle free. You see huge stereos in Vauxhalls etc which would normally rattle like mad. God knows why they do it but they do.

Hello,

I have the same problem with my SM. Its been back to the dealers on Monday and they found nothing wrong with the trims, but the resonance is still there today. I'll be escalation to SKUK at this rate to get it resolved.

Interestingly, its seems to be mostly music using traditional instruments like a double bass that causes the problem not electronic instruments per dance music etc.

Let me know if you find a solution and I will do the same.

Kitten and I have a lot of Micheal Buble CDs; and I hope they don't resonate.

I like classical and opera so they should be ok. :D
