Spax RSX Coilovers?

Featured Replies

Anyone got a set of these coilovers or got and information on how they fit feel etc ?

Was going to get them for my 4x4 instead of the Weitec Hicon GT Coilover but emailed damian at dpmperformance and he sead that even when set to full soft thay were still a harder ride than the Weitec Hicon GT Coilover.

So i did what most do and got the Weitec Hicon GT Coilover :-) and happy i did as there nice.

but i want the really firm lol if thats the only down side, then its an up side lol

I thought about Weitec as they are a sister company of KW but the price for the RSX is quite attractive, ive had KW veriant 2 before and they are awesiome but i dont want to spend the money really. so you reckon Hicon GT's?

westallc has a set of kw v3's up for sale i believe, around £600 iirc might be worth a look in the for sale section

think these were off his old black one that he broke and they sold, he was running weitecs on this latest breaker :giggle: they've also sold  (i could be wrong).

i had rsx's on my old rs 1800 and they were brill but to hard for everyday life. i run weitec's as many on here do and i cant fault them. they offer good handling with a firm but not to hard ride and are cheaper than rsx's so the cash saved could go on a RARB

they went long time ago buddy

ah fair enough my mistake.

If you do go for Spax get them direct for the factory :-)

You will save alot.

Ive had a look and the weitecs and the spax are about the same price, just over £500.

But a lot of guys who race seam to go for GAZ kit and once again they are about the same price.

Not sure what to go for now, apart from the weitecs have no bump and rebound adjustment where as the spax are have 28 adjustments and the gaz are 42!

IF your getting them for racing/track more then day to day driving then the 1s with full damper ajustment would be the better pix as you would get more the tweek when on a track.

£460 and the cheapest rsx i can find are £650

HTH

Its a remapped 130PD!

Ive got the RSX's for just a little over £500 and if i go for GAZ they are about the same.

The problem with the weitecs is there is no bump and rebound adjustment on the entry level ones where as for the same price Gaz and Spax have.

If i had a choice id have KW 3's but im just not prepared to spend that sort of money on a front wheel drive car as the handling is flawed by nature of its design so.................

The best comprimise is the either spax or gaz!

if thats the case then the spax win in my book, i had them on my old rs1800 and they were fantastic (used to go round roundabouts on 3 wheels) they were that hard :giggle::thumbup:

Thats me sold then!

I have had Weitec Hicon GT's on my motor for 2 years now and I like them a lot, but dare I say it, I actually would like a firmer set next time, So may go for Spax RSX's or KW 3's.

I know must be mad...

The Spax are a good quality kit but as mentioned are a little on the stiffer side. Popular choice for a lot of our customers who do track days.

Well thats answered my question then! ill go for spax as they are bump and rebound adjustable unlikle the weitecs plus they are firm.

Ive had KW's and even those id like firmer so i think RSX'x are for me.

I spoke to GAZ and they say they will do me a set of GAZ gold coilvers for £650 with my chosen damping and spring rates but ill have to wait a month for them, which i could do but i think the spax kit will do me fine.
