What noise does.....

Featured Replies

.... Black Diamond combis with matching pads make???? Have fitted these and they seem a little noisy under braking kind of like a flight of ww2 fighters!!! No viberation or pull so I'm just wondering if this a pleasant side effect of the grooved disks....

when i fitted grooved discs to my focus there wasn't any extra noise, it may be down to pad compound?

id imagine it will go over time they need time to bed in...dont forget no hard use for at leats 500 miles

My DS2500s squeaked like buggery when I first fitted them - maybe it was the heat, but now they're bedded in more, they're not too bad, with just occaisonal very low speed squeals. (thats on standard discs though)

My old BD combis sounded a little ruff at first, but once all the crap was off them they sounded just like any other grooved discs.

I think I know the noise you mean Andy....difficult to describe but.....braking gently you don't get it but brake harder and you get a sort of droning noise.

Have this with EBC grooved discs and DS2500 pads.

Only seems to happen when you get some heat into the brakes.

My EBC Turbogroove disks do this only when heated up and when you hit the brakes hard. Also refering to the noise as a flight of ww2 fighters is spot on!
