Dance CD/Radio

Featured Replies

Does anyone have problems with their Dance CD player. After about 45-60mins playing an MP3 CD mine starts to stick and then eventually stop. The display reads "CD Error" and the CD is ejected.

When I hold the CD it is very hot.

hot cd is normal as with a lot of head units. take it back to dealer

Mine has difficulty reading one particular brand of (admittedly cheap) CDs, and it has given me the error display with them. Try different brands of CDs and see if it cures it.

I can safely say that using PHILIPS CDs in mine has never given me any problems, and often I play them for more than 3 hours non-stop.

Hope this helps...

I have had an issue once with mine on a long when the unit was in use driving from Bournemouth to Glasgow. After about 5 hours of use the unit on various CDMP3s and AUX, the unit cut out on CD, ejecting the disc it was red hot and didn't play when put back in. Putting in a cold CDMP3 worked fine, when the other disc cooled off it played again fine.

Well, if it's any help, I once had to drive to Edinburgh, go there pick something up and come back straight away. More than 10 hours straight driving, same MP3 CD playing all along at a fairly high volume, not the slightest of problems.

As fabia55 said, CDs getting hot is perfectly normal, but if they get so hot that the cd player can't read them anymore, then there must be something wrong. Try another (as good as you can get) brand of CDs first though. Some CDs are made out of crappy plastic that hardly dissipate any heat at all, and can reach the point of melting...

If that fails, then your headunit must be faulty. It probably shouldn't really produce THAT MUCH heat to begin with.

I've had so many issues with my Dance radio unit, its been replaced twice under warranty, so I wouldn't be surprised if the radio was faulty. When it is working though it seems to take any disc it likes and it'll work.
