vRS Coolant leak

Featured Replies

Just come back from a couple of work jobs and noticed there was a trail of something behing the car when I parked up. Looked a bit serious to be from the aircon, had a peek underneath and noticed it dripping from the undertray. Seems to have stopped with the engine off. It's not oil so can only assume it's coolant as the level is down to the bottom of the expansion bottle. No obvious leaks from the radiator or top hoses.

Car was in just under two weeks ago for a 40k service, cambelt and water pump. Also had the coolant temp sensor replaced. Worth contacting the dealer?

I'm slightly worried about having to drive it 10 miles back there with a leak...

My 07 vrs was pi****g coolant out for months before skoda finally managed to fix it, in fact i was carrying a couple of bottles in the boot all the time it was needing topping up that often. Mine was leaking from the same place as yours, luckily i had the warranty to fix it. Definitely get it checked out.

I think it's a little suspicious that you've had the waterpump and cambelt done, then suddenly you springs a leak...

Warranty expired a couple of years ago last week.

Phoned them up and they said to bring it in ASAP. It's 10 miles round the motorway so I'll leave before peak traffic tomorrow, drive slow, cross everything and take a couple of bottles of water with me...

yeh. Mine still wasnt 100% when i got rid. I do feel sorry for the next person that has it unless its been totally fixed.

Limped it in with a couple of stops on the hard shoulder to top up the coolant when the light started flashing. One replacement of a 2 week old coolant temp sensor later and it's made it all the way home fine and is still full of coolant.

Fingers crossed that's it fixed!

What mileage is it? check the coolant hoses to see if there is an obviously leak.

Where is the coolant temp sensor is it on the expansion bottle??

Thanks
