1.6 CR or 2.0 CR

Featured Replies

any one help me i am going to order a new octavia, but not sure to go for 16cr or 20cr, most important thing to me is running costs, but in real world would a 2.0 get more mpg than 1.6 as not got to be worked so hard, i do drive very leisurely mostly long runs baout 25k a year, also the difference in cost of a 1.6 and 2.0 come into it as do road tax and insurance and with the money i save on a 1.6 i could even afford full leather.

I'd go for the 2,0CR engine, better all round. The 1,6CR as you rightly say would need to be worked harder to achieve the same results.

In regard to the upholstery, I wouldn't bother with leather, it can be hot & sweaty in the summer & icy cold (unless you have heated seats) in the winter and you don't see any benefit when it comes to trade in time, also leather needs more care.

You are coming from a Fabia vRS ...!!

I think you would be majorly disappointed with the 1.6. to be honest.

As for the leather..!!

it only needs conditioning twice or three times annually,

Go for th 2.0 with leather. and enjoy your 25k miles a year
