Thanks for the thread/heads up..

wtf... and I possibly need 4 of them??

Google says it looks like this:

Surely that does not cost £12....

Afraid so! I managed to get a small discount, as I ordered from VW (same parts) and my mate works there. Still wasn't cheap though!

BTW you'll have to order them in. I've ordered mine, they'll be in Thursday. In the meantime, my car will be hanging out my garage - good job there's nothing worth anything in the garage!

wait wait wait.. stupid question alert.. £12 each one.. so four is £48..... :wonder: :S

If thats the case, tell them to shove it right back up where that came from, can get a friend to machine them for much less..! :dull:

What is the purpose of these pins? surely just to hold them loosely/roughly in place?

hmmm hoping mine come with the pins then lol

i'm guessing you can order the parts from skoda too for the octavia

Does anyone know if the 312 kit that Golfturbo used to sell comes with everything needed, I've got the kit in the garage still in the box but I've yet to open it :giggle:

Yes it does. Been along time since if fitted my 312's but all the bits required were there and it only took 1/2 hour. Longest bit was getting the car jacked up and the wheels off and on. Have to say I don't remember any bolts like the ones shown above, but as I said, it was along time (3 years) ago.

Edit: Looking at it again, I do remember. Its just on mine they were already screwed into the carrier and I had no need to touch them.

to enable the caliper to slide to compress the pads on both sides of the disc...

Yep you need the slider pins not the bolts that the old brakes use. Good job my kit came with them already, £12 each!

Has anyone purchased the sliding pins off eBay as they are only 11 pound for all of them. Seems to good to be true. Brakeparts.co.UK on eBay
