Who's fitted 312 brakes before!?

Featured Replies

Just got my old brakes off, it seems the bolt setup to attache the caliper to the carrier is slightly different?

IE, the old bolt is too short to fit to the new TT brakes to fit them together?

Any help appreciated please please please!?

Chris.

They're fine to use the original line and bolt..

It's just the new caliper doesn't have the retaining pin.

Also what happens with the, what looks like, ABS socket on one of the pads!?

Thats a brake wear indicator, i just chopped it off!!!!

Edit i think, if you have something on the new 312mm pad its the brake wear indicator, your fabia doesn't have this function, if its anything else don't chop it off!!!!!!

Are you using the fabia carrier? If so that is your problem, you need the tt carrier

Okay, i'll chop that off. Anything related to the length of the bolt situation!?

Only my carrier question!!!!!!

  • Author

Nope, i'm using the TT carrier. The TT caliper/carrier seems to be too big, for the standard Fabia bolt, in that, it's not long enough to fit through!?

Not seen that before, unless you have mistakenly picked up a caliper to carrier bolt instead of a carrier to hub bolt!!!!!

From the video:

You don'[t use those bolts again. As the 312 is a different configuration, they're like a slider pin with a Allen key head..

Thats your problem
