Airbag fault warning light

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Got the airbag warning light on. Obviously will go to a garage and get it checked out when i have time but is this a common electronic glitch? Reason i ask i wouldnt want the airbag suddenly popping out on its own.... I tried deactivating the passenger airbag but this didnt get rid of the warning light. Not very exciting topic but any help regarding this issue would be appreciated,

cheers. Also not looking forward to my local skoda garage charging £50 just to look at the fault

HI

The warning light comes on to pre warn you that in an event of an accident the air bag will not go on

It has a fail safe you see , so it does not go knocking you out whilst driving

May be worth just cancelling off the fault

We see alot where the drivers seat gets moved about alot

I wonder; Sarah, are there any multi-plugs under the driver's seat on the Octy? I'm asking because this is a common problem with PSA cars, and the usual problem is that the multi-plug moves just enough to break and make the connections, disabling the airbag "until next time". The usual fix involves 18" of insulating tape wrapped round the connector!
