Hi all need help with these two codes that keep comin up comin home this morning when i noticed its not boosting as it shud car felt fine till you put your foot down and hardly any boost

17705 - pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve

16514-oxygen sensor (lamba)

anyone had this before and shed some light on it

i think the first place to look is the dump valve for a boost leak and also the pipework under the inlet manifold.

if it has an air leak it could be running lean and causing the lambda fault too

was thinking that too about pipes might just go n get all new ones n be dne with it ,,dump valve is about 4 years old with yellow spring ,give up with it good job i dnt carry a hammer :rofl:

hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm did notice smelt fuely when stopped

17705 is a classic! Do a search and spend a week reading about it!

Normally one or more of the following:

-Y shaped breather hose split

-Plastic breather tube split

-S shaped breather hose from one-way valve to underside of inlet manifold split

-Leaking pressure hose at rear of engine, running to pancake pipe on drivers side

-Dirty throttle body

-Original DV leaking

-Other boost/vacuum leak

Inspect all the vaccum hoses under the inlet manifold, all of the pressure hoses between the turbo and TB, and all of the breather hoses. Try inspecting them with the engine running too, as you can often hear a vacuum leak, and can hear the note change as you wiggle hoses. Watch out for the radiator fan and hot stuff though!

If you can't find a leak, and have replaced a few dodgy looking hoses, then pop off the TB and give it a good clean (there is a how to on the forum). 90% of the time a 17705 code is caused by a leak or dirty TB.

thanks for info going to pull it apart after weekend is over ,got to last till i been vag vest at least :giggle:
