I am looking at a 2006 octavia 1.9 tdi 4x4 Estate for towing our caravan which is 1500kgs fully loaded and according to Skoda website it's 1615 kg kerbweight which would make it a safe towing match but I cant seem to find out the max towing weight of the car and the Gross Train Weight . Some independant website's put the max tow weight at 1400kg and others at 1600kgs can anyone help with the correct figures

Permissible trailer loads, trailer braked

1400kg up to 12% gradient

1600kg up to 8% gradient

Permissible trailer loads, trailer unbraked

650kg
