Just noticed the front of my gearbox is wet with gear oil (identified by smell). I have never noticed any drips on the ground but it is noticeably wet. What's the most likely source?

Clean all the oil off and go for a run. Then look for source. Oil gets blown all over the place over time. Also check oil level.
