Had a test drive...

Featured Replies

Really shouldn't have. Was in my local dealer, who was quiet and took the demonstator - a 110 2WD - out for a run. What a cracking car! Trouble is I've only had my Octy for 4 months and my wife thinks I'm mad, but I'll be back at the dealers next week for a longer test drive and see if I can sort a deal out.

That's the Monster effect

Best of luck persuading your wife she needs a Monster on the drive and getting the dealer to give you a great offer.

BEST way to convince her is.................get her to test drive it too. :D

Sounds familiar, had a perfectly good Octavia 2, allbeit almost at its fourth birthday. Wife's Roomster was in for service and they lent me a Yeti 140 CRD Elegance 4x4. Tried very, very hard not to like it and avoided driving it other than to do the return trip to the garage. Said to Mrs T that there was absolutely no way I'd ever buy a '4x4'. Then ended up buying that exact Yeti a couple of months later.

Next time they can lend us a Fabia 1 - at least that would be cheaper. There again when I last had my Octavia serviced they did just that and I quite liked that too!

the yeti certainly impressed me on a test drive...cant wait to get mine, born next week im told

Do you think its possible to visit EVERY dealer in the county to get more test drives until we get our own SM :giggle:

Well. Andy.

,

If the Octy is a sedan, ypu shuld be OK. If it's a combi, it might be more difficult.

I replaced my 4 year old Octy Combi 140 PD with the Yeti. Boot space is a little bit of an adjustment, and mileage is not quite as good, but everything else is just FAB.

Particularly in long distance hs driving, the Yeti is very accomplished and quiet.

I tend to get bored with cars that I buy very quickly and within a couple of months I am starting to think ahead to the next car that I want. I have now had my Yeti for almost three months and, far from being bored with it, would buy one again tomorrow

Dangerous things, test drives!

I've reduced my car ownership cycle from 3 to 2 years. That way, I've found I don't have to start spending too much on the car before selling it on (MOT, tyres, servicing, etc.) and get a reasonable resale value. Therefore, I start thinking about my next car after about 12 months.

I have ALWAYS bought different cars but can honestly say that, at this point in time, I would consider buying another Yeti. I still can't get over just how good this beast is to drive. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif
