turbo spool

Featured Replies

I took my bsh off over the weekend

And ive started to notice more spool noise.. its more a high wining rather then boost presure.. This was a start in the morning so was a cold engine.

This normal? or is the turbo already on the way out ? (non agressive driving used.. could have been last person?)

Any ideas on checks to perform?

OO forgot to add

How much time is needed for a remap? (mainly for shark)

Can it be done over a dinner hour?

I dont know about the noise without hearing it first. Might be an idea to post up a vid or sound file of it if you can?

The remap does not take long and could be done within the hour. Mine didnt take that long to install. He has to read the original map to save it in case you want to revert back at any point or are buying the STS unit. The whole process is hassle free and Im sure Ben would talk through it in greater detail if you drop him a line.

BSH? If it's under-bonnet sound deadening, or in the inlet ducting, you've probably removed a noise dampener.

Everything was put back as it was when removed.

Its not a sound deadening issue.. as none of that was touched

I dont think id be able to get a sound bite of the noise.. its to quiet for a mic to pic up i would have thought.

If it was a hole somewhere.. surely EML would appear.. so cant be that serious?? can it lol

Ok ad a good listen this morning from leaving the drive#

The noise is preboost

So its not turbo spool.. sounds like a servo wining
