Viewing ping results

Featured Replies

A simple question. Using Windows 7, when I ping an IP address using the Search programs and files box - e.g. by typing the command ping 192.168.0.110 - the results disappear off the screen before I can read them. What do I need to do to get them to display long enough to read and/or copy?

I think i follow what you're doing.

Instead of typing in ping there, type in "cmd" and hit return, then in that window that opens type in your ping / tracert etc.

Or have i misunderstood your question  :'(

Unfortunately I can't help with any more questions for you to answer at the moment. emoticon-0106-crying.gif

if you want to run the command in one go, you can prefix it with cmd /k which will fire up the command window and run the command - for example cmd /k ping www.google.co.uk will open up a command window and start the ping command. Another useful feature is being able to pipe the output to a file rather than the display which is handy if you're running a longer test and want to store the result. For example to continuously ping google and store the results in a text file the command from the run box would be cmd /k ping -t www.google.co.uk > c:\ping_test.txt which will open a black box with no text which will sit there until you press Ctrl + C which will stop the ping command and the results will be available in C:\ping_test.txt

If it's a problem with hacks -Synantec used to offer a facility on line to trace hackers -and at one time had maps of the world's prime would be hackers .Or alternatively - you could try a look on tucows.com /download.com on IP TRACERS .
