Mad oil temp?

Featured Replies

Just to eliminate my paranoia - does anyone know if this is correct...

2.0 PD 140 05 plate

Air temp 17 degrees

Coolant temp 16 degrees

Fuel Temp 17 degrees

Oil temp 28.8 degrees!!!??

Car had not be run for over 24 hours.

If sensor is up the creek what would be the side effects?

Cheers!

What are the readings when the engine is up to working temperature ?

IIRC it's similar to the Fuel Temp which is about 80 degrees....

80 deg oil temp sounds O.K.

An engine oil temp of 120 deg C showing on a 110 TDI in Spain in 1999, still going strong ever since all 100% & 200,000 miles later.
