UNIROYAL RAINSPORT 2'S

Featured Replies

got two uniroyal rainsport 2's fitted on thursday all i can say is excellent easily the best tyre i have ever driven on

open for discussion

I was gonna get some last time the vrs needed some new shoes, but couldn't get hold of any because uniroyal couldn't make them fast enough!!

Had to settle for Vredstein Sportrac3's instead.

totally agree, good both in wet and dry

The rainsport 2's just came 2nd in the EVO magazine 2010 tyre test (This months copy).

Aye : http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2010-EVO-Tyre-Test.htm

Looks like they were good at aquaplaning prevention but not a lot else :giggle:

You wont beat teh Eagle F1s (GSD3) - bet they would win if they were in the test ;):giggle:

Well the test car was an mx5.

Some cars are better suited to some tyres than others.

Im just happy that i have a tyre thats good in the wet as a lot of the year Britain has rainy weather and the rainsports do well in dry so for me they ft the bill.

To be honest, after going from T1R's to rainsports i was a little disappointed. They seem to feel a little less sharp on cornering, and after having the side wall blow out at 50MPH (after 3 months of having them fitted) i lost a bit of confidence in them. They may be a little better in the wet though, but I don't push hard enough on public roads to really test them

I won't be getting them fitted again when they're worn, either kuhmos or t1rs again for me

T1Rs are just poor mans GSD3s. Had a set put on the front of my 2.0l (mustang slayer!) as the garage didn't have any GSD3s in and recommended them - took em off after a week and replaced em with the Goodyears, much better! ;)

Still got the T1Rs in my garage if anyone is interested :giggle: (195/50/r15)

yup, I can't afford to spend over £100 notes on a tyre unfortunately... I use them on public roads, don't do track days so T1Rs or even rainsports are more than enough and far from being ditch finders!

Eagle F1 GSD3's are quite possibly the worst tyre ever in the snow. I've got GSD3's on my vRS and have replaced the other vRS tyres with Rainsport 2's. I'm happy with them. And at £40 a corner cheaper i'll be going for them on mine when the time comes. I've never had such a shocking tyre in the snow!
