my car is a 2001 rs and i find i can get much more out of normal unleaded than super but find that i have better performance out of super so swings and roundabouts i suppose

That's 42mpg :o

yea, thats about what I get for the 45 mile comute to Bristol from Cardiff. 40-42.5 on the comp and I work it out myself and the last 4 tanks of top of my head were 7.6mpl 7.5 mpl 8.2 and 8.3 this last time.

I dont drive slow neither usually set cruise to 72 on the clock.

you can get good eco out of them if driven sensibly lol. not many ppl do tho as it is a car that loves to rev and go fast lol

I got 42mpg coming back from Swindon today just following cars which ain't too bad.

I'm lucky to see 25mpg on my weekly commute :(

Very good MPG that.

I get about 370 - 380 from a tank of £63 roughly.

about the doors i get 30-32mpg on a run i get 36+. well impressed with it!.

I've had the same thing.

It took a full tank of super unleaded to get me to Liverpool from Surrey with 3 people in the car and overnight bags (we only went there for a night out  )

As I had the biggest boot and an empty seat I brought back the bloke who's flat we were staying at with all his stuff (his contract had finished).

I couldn't get any super in Liverpool so I had to fill up with unleaded and with 4 blokes and a packed car it only took 3/4 of a tank before I hit Reigate :giggle:

I've had my 04 VRS for a year, its standard apart from a Forge 007P DV I switched to normal unleaded about a month ago and seem to get better mpg as a result, 380-390 miles per tank vs 360-370 for 99 ron.

I do about 2000 miles a month though.

no performance mods and I average 26mpg on the LPG @ about £2.50 a gallon....

Standard map and no mods other than a green panel filter and Forge DV and I had 40mpg on a trip up to Cadwell Park and back (doing normal motorway speeds not sitting behind trucks at 60mph  )

It also averaged 38mpg to the Ring and back, even with 4 laps of pretty harsh treatment on the Ring

Like LukeVRS I normally get 370-380 to the tank with my weekly driving.

In the city traffic (stop&go) around 19-20mpg. On the highway (from 140-200+km/h) is 22-23mpg and on open roads (max 130km/h) is 30-31 mpg.

Mine usually hovers around 35mpg average, but last week went down to 33 and i noticed the instant mpg figure looked lower than usual on the same roads i use everyday. Took it for a long hardish drive in friday and on the way back it started improving and after resetting the average it's again at 35mpg, think they need a long journey now n then to clear the crap out

I usually get 400-420 out of a tank but that is nearly all motorway. The only super unleaded that seems to improve or maintain this is VPower, and the buggers have closed the only shell garage local to me! I have not found a local tesco to try there 99 yet.

Mine has a Fordge 007DV and a Jabba custom map and I went from Southend-on-Sea ---> Stansted Airport (Takeley) ---> Hastings (St. Leonards-on-Sea) ---> Stansted Airport (Takeley) ---> Hartford ---> Stansted Airport (Takeley) ---> Southend-on-Sea on the Saturday before last and I got 420 miles out off a tank (mostly motorways/A roads 65-75 mph)

i can squeeze 41 mpg out of my vrs on a long smooth trip form up north to edinburgh, but usually sits about 30 to 32mpg.

How come it seems to do better on standard 95 than 99?? bit random that isn't it..

Mines the opposite, I get at least 20 miles more out of a tank of 99 RON than 95 RON. Which just about makes up for the difference in price between the two.

I too get better mpg from using super unleaded, car seems to run better on it as well. :)

my phase 2 gives around 33mpg,i can get 41 mpg if i'm sensible and stick to 60mph.if i use 99 ron i get 30 miles more from a tank and it goes better to.

well with normal unleaded u get more fuel for your money..simples :)

I get 35-37mpg on a 14 mile trip to work and on a run between 40-44mpg .

I was getting 38-40 mpg, but since I moved closer to work and the drive is a little more interesting it's dropped to around 34-36 mpg. Unless,of course, an Iron Maiden CD should fall into the player, then expect around 20-25 mpg

haha, yep. very true. should probably have thought of that...
