Climatronic

Featured Replies

Hey

Can I fit the climatronic display unit to my furby? I understand that it won't work properly because the car don't ave all the sensors, but could I fit it and use it like the normal heater controls?

I just want it cos it looks good

You can fit it, but it wont work as you dont have all the motors for it to operate.

Shame it's not an option to get it fitted though :(

Nothing is impossible, mate. A decent electrician would probably be able to fit it - maybe get all the kit from the scrappy? I personally don't like it and was one of the reasons I got rid of my Golf....always had to take my eyes off the road to turn the temperature down.

I'm sure it could be fitted, as you say James :D - couldn't be bothered though I think, I must admit, plus it would no doubt void warranty and all that...

Also, I seem to remember the system used in the VW Passat (I know, different car, so dunno if it's related, but could be) they (VW) changed it as the sensor was near one of their fancy cupholders, so every time you had a hot drink the climate control would go crazy  - I know it's true that it goes crazy as I've driven a few of those things as hire cars about a year ago hehehehe

I always ignored the auto side as I was always too hot...

Its not impossible but near enough.

No Fabia is built with climatronic so you would need to scratch build a heaterbox, wiring loom then get the control unit (which in itself is around

And to add to that fun experience you'd also better not make any mistakes whilst wiring it all up ;)
