It only shows the temperature once it gets over 60C, are you doing short journeys in your car? It takes about 10-15 mins for mine to register a temp (diesel).

I am doing long journeys and it still says ---

Must be something wrong then. Need to get the workshop to take a look

yep, mine works fine (2010 petrol vrs)

Mine works fine too, CR DSG, shows --- for a few minutes until the oil is warm enough to resister a temp and once up to temperature when running seems to fluctuate between about 98-105 depending on how hard the engine's being worked
