Roto Assist Required

Roto, on behalf of someone else, what do you use to keep the CV boots supple?

tia.

I paint the CV's with clear Silicone grease, works for me. I also use it on the door hinges. In the past i have used Waxoyl, that seemed to work but i often wondered if the solvent in the Waxoyl damaged the CV boot?.

Silicone grease (I use MS4), applied sparingly and worked well into the boot - use a gloved hand. Then wipe off the surplus with a rag so the boot is not sticky.

If you leave too much grease on the boot, the road grit sticks to it and grinds away the rubber.

Be very careful indeed not to get silicone grease anywhere near your eyes.
