What is the recomended Fuel for Fabia 1.2TSI petrol? (octane)

Featured Replies

hi,

i'm looking at getting a new Skoda fabia 1.2 ltr./63 kW TSI, here in russia There are a variety of octane ratings available, so i was wondering what octane level/rating would be best in therm for reliability?

Is a 1.2TSI engine will be as equally reliable by refueling it with 95 octane as it would be with a 98 octane? What the manufacturer's instructions say about it?

is there a real reason why i should refuel it with 98 octane?

thanks!

p.s: sorry for my english.

The manual say's 95 octane which will be fine. 98 octane is really for performace cars and also more expensive.

I bet their almost giving petrol away in russia compared to the uk

95 will suffice

however my old corolla tsport compressor ( supercharged 215bhp ) required 98 octane as lower octane rating could damage the supercharger....

on a 1.2 tsi id imagine 95 octane would surely suffice, seek manufacture guidelines to make sure

Almost true ;)

Our fuel prices are much lower than yours, here 98 octane (super plus) cost the same as your 95 (super).

moreover, the price differences between 95 and 98 here are way bigger then in the UK, so as you can imagine our 95 is indeed "half-free" compered to Britain.

My 1.2 says 91 or 93 on the inside of the fuel cap...I haven't managed to find any that low yet!
