Lowering Height

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Got me weitecs the other week, and finally managed to get them booked in for fitting, now i must ask...... What drop should i go......

I want it LOW! but i dont want it undrivable as it is my daliy drive up the M20.

One of the guys at work has a set of eibachs (springs only) on his which give it a nice drop but i wouldent mind lower......

what have you got and what would you recomend?

every1 is different...mine dropped 30mm which still leaves a gap between tyre and arch...others use coilovers which lower it to the tyre...but most have probs with speedbumps etc....

its personal choice at the end of the day...

im on weitecs but ive never actually measured the drop, its on the bottom settings on the back and just over half way on the front [from memory] emoticon-0136-giggle.gif ....

You saw mine at the rolling road day, go as low as that! :)

All the way on the rear and slightly more than half way on the fronts. :D

So thats 100% wind down on the rear and 60% on the front?

will do

I have weitecs and there about 60% on front and 40% on back left. Could go lower but as its a daily and roads are ruff i left them there.

Thats a better drop! you are rolling 18" arent you Polo_pip? has that changed your rolling radius? or did you go with lower sidewalls?

His TT Comps are 17 inch :)

Be interested to see if yours make any noises... lol :)

Noises? like what? :giggle:

AP's are made using the same components as Weitec and KW yet mine (and several others) make a metallic clunk going over bumps or general driving. Been told its because mine is too low and outside the cover of TUV standards.

Had them when i had cheaper 'ta technics' on, but none with these. Think my shock on the back passenger side is gone as the wheel bounces apparently.

Turn ya music up, best way :D

Im on eibach coilovers, rears are all the way, with the adjuster cups out, and fronts are low enough that the wheel catches on full lock sometimes.

As people have said, its all personal preference. I have a speed bump free commute, and dont have people in the back too often, so i went for a big drop. Having said that, I still got 4 adults, 1 baby, and all his pram and stuff in, although it did rub over dips when shifting a bit. Speed bumps are ok too, juts have to remember to go over the little ones in the middle of the road with one wheel.

Matt
