just having a look round the engine bay today and was wondering two things, is there any decent workshop manuals about as there isnt a haynes manual and also where abouts is the oil filter located on the octavia 2 tfsi vrs

You can download the official Skoda manual from certain sites, or buy a 'copy' from Ebay for about £10.

my dad got one from a website for me but there is a code that it requires to free it from its 30day trial and i dont have the code, emailed the people he got it off and heard nothing so it looks like its useless

Oil filter can be accessed from under the car but you will need to take the engine cover off to see it.

The closest Haynes manual for the octavia is the MK5 golf, they share the same engine, brakes etc. Failing that Elsawin but they are illegal unless you buy the genuine copy..
