gone into limp mode

Featured Replies

hope someone can help. i serviced my octavia vrs saturday gone, just an oil and filter job nothing major.while i was under the bonnet i changed the last of the old coil packs, having replaced the other three a while ago. the car was fine for a few days but has now gone into limp mode cant hear the turbo spooling up but there is no light on the dash. the pack i ordered from the main dealer looked different to the others but the guy in parts assured me it would be fine. the part number is 06A 905 115D. does any one know if this could be the problem? my other packs are 06B 905 115 R. i have put my old coil pack back in to see if it improves but its still not running right. it could be nothing to do with the packs and be a totally different fault but i cant help wondering about the different part numbers.

if it was the wrong part i would say it would misfire very quickly after replacing it,if it gone into limp mode you may have to clear the code(s) to get it out of limp,a fault scan would be your best bet

it was running fine,no misfire but after it went into limp mode i disconnected the battery overnight as i think i read somewhere that might clear the fault.next day back to normal, turbo spooling up ok then hit the motorway went back into limp mode.

Impossible to say without it being scanned sorry.

As said needs fault clearing, so code reader required here, sorry.

thanks anyway. i realise the fault could be anything,i thought maybe someone could shed some light on the coil pack i ordered from the dealer because it did look a bit different to the ones i have.

right, just a quick update.took the car to get scanned yesterday no fault was found.while it was on the machine the guy ran the car and it was detecting misfires on all four cylinders.the air mass meter was at fault, apparently these can run faulty for quite some time without cel lights coming on.£93 exchange genuine vag.the car is running as good as ever now.
