Blue Bullet Carbon Dash & Door Cards Done

Featured Replies

Well after seeing how Shahoff's dash looked i thought i would give it a go in the blue bullet.

Having a few days off work helps so had to occupy my time. So after wrapping the iPhone & iPad yesterday i decided this morning i would wrap the MFD3 surround, Ash Tray Lid & the Silver dash trim.

Here are the results and got to say i quite like it.

If i can be bothered with the hassle i may remove the door cards and do the silver trim on those too.

Edit: Well i can be bothered

No bad at all, could the heater surrounds be done?

I predict that you will be bothered! in fact I reckon the door cards are being taken care of as I write. :giggle::thumbup:

I think it works really well on the dash / door inserts, but the mfd surround and ash tray lid are a bit too big an expanse of it for my eye. I know the camera flash makes it look more OTT than it really is mind. Good effort

Did you pop the door trims to do those? Did you melt the studs?

I popped the passenger door trim, seen how it was held in and just did it whilst attached to the door. The drivers door i just did in situ. Bit of patience, Lot of care with a scalpel, hairdryer and spudger. Didn't want to start melting stuff on the door

looks really good, top job :)

Are there any guides on the internet on how best to wrap? Im thinking of doing the grille on my new car when it turns up in matt black

There are a few videos on youtube etc but really its just patience.

The beauty with the 3M stuff is if you do it wrong you can take it off and start again.

All you need is a Scalpel, Hairdryer and a lot of patience

Your on a mission mate, and it's looking really good.

How easy is it to work with this stuff? I feel a project coming on with the MX-5's interior :)

I forgot to say, I have a couple of the Dash trims on the shelf in the garage for the MFD with Climatic control if you want one to revert back to at a later date matey.

Piece of pi55 mate. If you can Fablon a Map you can do this. Just requires patience and a hairdryer to get it smooth around cutout/corners etc

I thought you might of changed your opinion from your post on the MKV forum. :giggle:

Personally I think the flash hasn't helped in the pictures, it seems to have given everything a blue tint, as I've said to Carl, I will reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh though.

I think the blue tint is due to the fact all the interior lights are Hi-Power Blue LED's ;)

to drive he ST220 was better. But the interior is better on the vRS by a long shot (when not laced in carbon fibre stickers :giggle: )

Your just jealous and secretly want to do yours :p

I think it looks quite smart actually. Will try and get some better pics in the daylight rather than in the Garage
