OK fellers help needed please.

Is it OK to add this to this thread ?

Just had a phone call from the dealer.He says very inadvisable to have a tow bar on my Octavia because it will cause appalling electrical and/or computer problems.

He says Skoda are aware but have not fixed it yet.

It is very important that the tow bar is fitted before I take delivery or every year it will have to have its own MOT as well as one for the car. There are also very strict rules about who can fit it and what make it is etc.

This is Spain I'm talking about by the way.

Have any of you heard of such a load of cobblers before ?

I thought car makers these days provided "tap-off" points for trailer electrics.

Could cars sold in Spain be different? Would it be possible they would faff around varying the wiring between countries ?

Do you think Skoda UK might know ?

How helpful are they ? Some makers are pig ignorant in my experience. Never had a Skoda before.

I know FOR CERTAIN on the older model there is no problem, I have one fitted, no idea about the new one though
