Project Carbon Wrap Day 3 - Close up Pics added

Featured Replies

Well as i had a few off cuts of Wrap (and whilst waiting for another roll :giggle:) Lee (Pagey1255) gave me an idea

After a lot of patience & cursing i finally managed to wrap the Foglight surrounds. You have no idea how hard they were to wrap

Any way here is the result

Will go and take a couple more later from a bit closer. Just went that far back to get both sides in at once

Lets just say if it had been filmed it would just be a constant bleep  I didn't think they would be THAT hard to do until i started.

Close-ups look even better! Top job.

I have roll from the GB that was done. Just trying to work out what to try first as I don't know how good I'll be at it!

It's actually easy to do it's just time consuming and requires patience. Start of with easy things (radio surrounds etc) before tackling stuff like the Foglight surrounds.

I've got a bit of the 3M stuff knocking about, its about 12-18 months old so I'm not sure if its the same as the current product. I'm thinking of wrapping the silver plastic part which says TFSi on the engine cover and maybe the Evoms pipe.....will it stand up to the heat?

Any ideas re: the above post?! :S

Well there was someone who wrapped the Fab vRS exhaust tip and I don't think has had any problems. If I could find the thread again, I'd check for you!

So if it can stand up to grime, smog, water and heat there, I think your engine cover and EVOMS will be OK. Anyway, only one way to find out :)

Oh man, each to their own and all that but that's pretty lame in my book.

it actually looked good!

Have a look see if you can find it - I thought it worked quite well :)

How did it stay on though?

As soon as the exhaust got hot the wrap would have altered shape etc and peeled off surely? Or was it just done for a show?

Was that you around Exeter late last week or over the weekend?? seen a blue VRS with the LED running lights there
