CEL - Anyone with Vagcom in Southampton Area

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Driving into work this morning and the CEL (check engine light) came up on the dash of my Octavia VRS. The car seems to be running fine but it is constantly on. I'm assuming it is alright to carry on driving with the light on?

Does anyone in the Southampton Area have Vagcom that would be willing to meet up this weekend to check for the error - beer money will be provided.

Thanks

Kev

If you look at the VAG-COM/VCDS owners list you will see there are people with it in your area.

I would assume the opposite and that you shouldn't keep driving it with that light on as you could damage the cat.

I'm not a million miles from you, so I'd be happy to meet up and scan for you, but the weekend probably doesn't work for me I'm afraid.

Thanks, so from you comment I need to get this fixed asap as I drive to Winchester through the week to work. I'm going to give JKM in portsmouth a call to see if they'll look at it but assuming that won't be till later in the week so if anyone can help me out before even better. I don't want to use Skoda as I know it will cost an arm and a leg just for them to look at it.

Booked into JKM for Wednesday so if anyone can help out before then great, if not looks like I'll be borrowing the girlfriend's car!
