XBOX 360 Slim

Featured Replies

I must be the first on here to own one.

Got a new 360 slim to update my now quiet old 360.

The new one is much quieter than the old model, almost silent infact, and its much smaller than the original model as well. It uses a lot less power, but does still get quiet warm to touch when in use.

The orignal HDD does not fit, so I plugged my already owned transfer cable into the 360 with the old HDD on it, and upon detection I was prompted by the 360 to transfer the data. I was up and running with my old profile etc. in less than 30 mins.

The only thing I have left to do is re-install several games onto the HDD (360 games, not arcade) and then I am all done. These games do not copy over since they are tied to the 360 HDD, still it only takes 5 mins per game so not too bad.

Anyone taking bets on how long it takes for the red ring of death appears? :giggle:

I just got rid of my PS3, because I was bored of it, I've considered a XBOX 360, but I don't think I'll bother as it's expensive & I don't think I'll find it entertaining or reliable.

This is the 4th "gen" of eggbox hardware.. they ironed out all of the issues with the RROD in the 2nd gen, and the E74 in the 3rd gen.

My previous 360, which I updated from is 2 years old, used regularly and still works perfectly. Only reason for changing is noise reduction and bigger HDD, Wifi built in is also a bonus but no use to me.

My old 360 is being passed onto my brother who has a 1st gen which RROD'd a couple of months ago, way outside the 3 year RROD warranty.

So this would connect to internet through normal bt wireless internet would it?

indeed it will as long as it can see your wireless router.

That's tempting fate that is.
