Finally picked it up!

Featured Replies

Woo Hoo!

Picked it up yesterday afternoon.

Love it, just love it.

I had Midlands Detailing prep it after the PDI, so here's the link (as it also includes pics): -

:D

Spec is: -

CR 170

DSG

Full Leather

Heated Seats

Front and Rear Sensors

Spare Wheel

MDI

Sat Nav

Xenons

Bluetooth

Boot Mat

Rear Sunblinds (side windows)

Have to say, the sound system is brilliant for a standard spec (non-upgrade).

Also, hats off to both All Electric Kings Heath (Kal, salesman, top man) as nothing was too much trouble; and Paul at Midlands Detailing who was brilliant - quality job, done with a big smile and clearly knows his stuff.

Now, where's my key...... :p

Cheers,

H

PS: Notice the white grill surround......wonder where I got that idea from......?! ;)

great write up, interesting to read about the level of contamination, starting to plan for doing a similar job to my new on in sep

Looks excellent, very interesting reading never heard of the iron product before. Out of interest how much did it cost?

Great motor fab colour emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Thanks for introducing me to 'Iron Cut'! Never heard of it but going to invest asap as the motor is covered in Iron filings galore!!!

Hi Ollie,

It cost £225.

That included the interior protection for the leather and mats too - 18 month warranty on any stains too.

Paul at MD is a top man and will sort anything you request (within reason! ;)).

how much is this kinda work?

Is it better than those Autoglym style products the garages try to "add on" to your order?

edit sorry typed that as you were typing your reply above.

Sounds like good value

edit 2 - can you put up a pic of the whole car shot from the side. Cant really tell if i like the grille colour code.

Who did that for you btw, and apprx costs?

Lace,

See above. :)

It was about £80 less than that offered by the garage (the Autoglym) route, and they wouldn't have got close to doing what MD did.

I should add, the £225 also include the initial viewing of the car, which Paul did on the wednesday, where he checks the whole car over for the quality of the paintwork, any issues, etc. and advises where you should go from there.

Lace,

Check out Prolfe's profile and search for his pics (it's basically the same thing and it'll save you some time waiting for me to put more pics up!) - that's where I got the idea.

The Skoda dealer sorted it for me - I asked, they obliged by sending it to their bodyshop chaps for me prior to pick-up, cost was £120 (which I thought reasonable).

As I say, Skoda Kings Heath get the thumbs up from me for service already.

Very surprised about the iron fall out, not heard of any reports on here and found none myself, you would of thourght the transport sheets would have protected it. Also the cars are made to order so ar'nt stored. :wonder:
