..do the smilleys make it softer????

Does the Fabia not have the standard cabin / map reading light module that takes the OEm mic? I'm sure SWMBO's does. That would seem to be the bext place to me - certainly works well in the Octavia...

I placed the microphone there is SWMBO's MK5 Golf and the volume was very quiet, so i removed it and replaced it on the outside of the light module and the volume is much better.

..yes the fabia 3 has the standard cabin / map reading light module im not sure ábout it taking the OEM mic, maybe someone else can answer that for us.

I have ordered a OEM mic with a cable set ,hopefully i will be able to place it there.

Pop the light out, remove the plastic diffuser, then underneath you will see a couple of philips screws, unscrew those and the light assembly pops out. You should see a small "grill" with a rectangular foam block in it about an inch long and 1/2 inch across, pop the foam block out, and just clip the OEM mic in to the "grill" in it's place, run the wire down the A pillar ....... job done.

Carefull removing the A pillar as there are bit's of the curtain airbag mechanism in there and a speaker iirc.

That's the way to do it - looks harder than it is, really is easy to do. As fluffmeister says, but be a bit careful if you have curtain airbags emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Yep, but on my old Roomster, which had curtain airbags, part of the wiring for them ran down through the A pillar. The Roomster shares the same front end / cockpit with the Mk2 Fabia.

.....what about when you want to change the speaker on the sidev doors is that a problem with the air bags???

Nope not that I am aware of, that's only going to mean whipping the door cards off.

..i was a bit relactant at taking the A pilars off and since i could see at there was a gap between the A pilar and the rubbur door hose seal i managed to hide the mic. cable in that gap,but now im abit skeptical if it is in the way of the airbags as i think i could see them(airags tucked in the roof) :'(

...hmmm should i redo and take A pilars offf??????????
