Juddering under acceleration? Coilpack?

Featured Replies

I've posted something on here before about my car juddering around 80mph. The more I drive the car the more I notice slight juddering at times.

I don't notice it when I'm driving through town, even when I'm giving it some. However, I do notice it on slip lanes, motorways, anywhere that I give it a lot of beans.

The guy who I bought the car off said that he had changed a coilpack previously, and he gave me a spare (I'm aware that this is quite a common fault)

Is there a possiblity that it could be coil pack that is meaning the car isn't running right and casuing the judder? Or am I way off the mark?

Normally if a coilpack goes it goes pretty spectacularly, you get loads of unburnt fuel through the exhaust and the car goes into limp mode and runs like a dog until you change it.

I'd be inclined to look at hoses and valves or possibly fuel filter or injectors. Is it juddering at gear changes or just when you are in gear? Is it doing it while the turbo is spooling up or is it after it has reached full boost and the wastegate has opened?
