Hey All,

Quick question: Will an Secondary Air Pump off an 1.8 20VT AYP Mk3 Ibiza Cupra engine fit my Octavia 2004 VRS as mine has just died? Looking at the picture it looks identical but just wanted to make sure.

I would have thoguht so, I think they're the same part.

Can you check the part numbers?

i know i this is off the question but has it affected your car?

i mean the secondary airpump failing?

Made no difference to the car apart from the ECL (Engine Check Light) is constantly on now.

I believe all the secondary air pump does is pump air into the exhaust on start up and I believe some people have removed it all together.

Yeah, you can remove the pump, but you will get a CEL light on, unless you get it mapped out.

Not worth the hassle imo
