Yeti After 6000Miles

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Please see my notes of owning a Yeti for 6 months:

1. No noise from dashboard.... Err guys it may be worth checking the seat belt clasps on the back seats these are very irritating if left unclapsed...and could be the noise see by the head rest's

2. Fuel consumpumption on my SE 140 4x4 is now about 44MPG it does go as high as 48 but err I'm a bit lead footed...

3. Boot space is more flexible than my previous Octavia no doubt about it.... Because there is only three in my family the ability to fold or remove seats is great.

4. Roof rails yes the Thule ones are great and fit fine but if you had a Octavia before then you will need to replace all ;-( but get the steel ones and it isn't that expensive...

5. Oil consumption in this time was one litre in this time. I found Comma do a 507.00 spec oil for 14UKP pounds from my autofactors.

6. Windscreen washer be aware that if you have SE or above the headlight washers use a lot of the fluid...

7.Thanks for the tip on the middle seat it works great!!!! i.e. unclip the middle and then hook to the front seats.

8.I've had no issues in this time... I haven't got the paint chips either it could be paint type related? I do go down tracks and stuff...

9. The Bolero radio is good but the SD card is slow to be read on startup it seems to read the entire structure on each power cycle which seems strange...

Do I like the car? Oh yes it is great and it is great that it is quite small but good with boot space I've had windsurfing equipment and MTB stuff on the boot no problem...

Anything I would like to change? The original brochure was a mess I hope it is better now...

It is quite strange to drive sometimes when the haldex switches in it feels weird that the back is suddenly pushing the back of the car,

Rubber boot mat is great it has a lip that protects the floor of the boot when I haven't been able to stop the salt water dripping onto it...

The shopping bag holders in the boot are also a favourite.

Any annoying things? Well the original spec said I would get a drawer under the passenger seat for the SE err it doesn't!!!!

I also would've liked a rollable parcel shelf because it is harder to store when all the seats are rolled down...

Would I recommend it? Err yes!!!!! Also err it is quite nice to still have a car where there are not many on the road it always seems to get the odd glance as you drive past....

Better dash I finshed compiling the code I was working on ;-)

all the best

Jerry

Same mileage on mine. I totaly agree with the above plus make sure the shopping bag hooks in the rear are locked down because they too will vibrate.
