Skoda Used Car Multi Point Check

Featured Replies

Hi Guys and Girls,

Does anyone know where I can find the list of items are that are checked on the vehicle by the dealership under Skoda Used and Approved Scheme?

I have looked around the internet and cannot find the list.

There are a couple of snags which I would like to query but would like to know where I stand under the scheme before I go to the dealer.

Your help is appreciated

It's a joke. I was sold a Superb with 1 year's remaining warranty and "serviced" by a main dealer in Mansfield. I've forgotten all of the things they didn't check - but here's a few I can remember.

Rear pads 2 mm.

Spare wheel unused - and flat. It was not punctured and remained inflated when I blew it up.

Transmission oil level never checked (film of preserving wax intact on level plug). It was OK though.

Engine oil overfull.

Coolant on minimum. Again, topped up and no subsequent leaks.

Air cleaner filthy and choked with debris.

Juddering wiper blade due to misaligned arm.

Brake bleed nipple cover missing.

Damage to underside of vehicle caused by careless use of trolley jack.

Despite all of this, having put these faults right and serviced the vehicle myself, it's been reliable.

I deeply resent having to spend time correcting serious design defects on this car (water ingress rusts brake servo) which VAG knew all about on the Passat. I will never ever buy another VAG car - Japanese next time.

Hi Rotodiesel,

Thanks for your reply,

I bought a Octavia from a main dealer and so far so good.

I just have a couple niggles with a damper on the tailgate seizing and squeeking. Notice a couple of very small scratches gone rusty which I can treat and worn wiper blades.

Spoke to the salesman and he said that the damper and blades should of been checked and to take it in.

I suppose you get good and bad main dealers. Maybe you should complain to Skoda main office?
