ZENEC ZE NC2010 in Octavia YM2007

Featured Replies

Hello everybody,

I want to install a ZENEC ZE NC 2010 in my Octavia Mk2, YM 2007: http://www.zenec.com/it/products/ego/volkswagen-seat/ze-nc2010/

According to ZENEC, it supports visual display of parking sensor information for Octavias with facelift: http://www.zenec.com/en/products/ego/volkswagen-seat/ze-nc2010/can-bus-interface-special-version-for-recent-skoda-car-models/

Searchin around, I found that I could use that feature with a CAN Gateway upgrade: http://www.my-gti.com/739/upgrading-of-volkswagen-park-distance-control-pdc-to-optical-parking-system-ops

Questions: are the part nos. provided in the GTI forum correct for Skoda?

- will the new PDC work with the current sensors?

- what other operations are needed to change the CAN Gateway?

Thank you :)

Hi,

I have this fitted in my 09 FL Octy and yes it works great I get PDC image and climate pop ups.

Zenec stress that your current radio (which was my Bolero) must already be able to display PDC.

Although this model states its for VW/SEAT it works in the FL as it has the same CAN-BUS system as the Golf VI, zenec now admit it works in Skoda cars but they have said from 09 onwards.

HTH in some way.

BIG Nick :)

Hi ,

I have been thinking on and off about fitting one of these to my FL 2010 Vrs how do you rate them compared to the Bolero, ie: easy of controls, graphics, speed etc?

Also where have you mounted the sat nav receiver?

Cheers

Paul

So these are about 800 quid new, vs. a used Columbus at £500?

Interesting...!

Although this is not the purpose of the thread, I've chosen the ZENEC after fiddling with both (and a number of chinese replicas).

Zenec does everything Columbus does, and then some: better navigation mainly.

A very nice device :)

Any news on the part no. for the Octy2 FL CAN gateway and PDC Controler? Also, are the 'old' factory-installed parking sensors compatible with the new controler? I already have visual information, on the Stream.

thank you.

I believe the Zenec includes Bluetooth and iPod connectivity as standard. Add these extras onto a Columbus and I think you'd end up paying quite a bit more than the Zenec.

I'm afraid I can't be of much help in answering your questions, but I also have a 2007 vRS (with rear parking sensors) so I'm very interested to see how you get on with this. Good luck...!

(All I need now is a big cash windfall...!)

This has loads of features.

Has dual zone option where it has 2 outputs for headrest monitors so people in the back can watch a DVD with headphones and driver can listen to audio/nav.

The audio options are SD Card and usb input as well as an a/v input.

There is an option to add DVB-T.

Comes with bluetooth as standard which you can stream music from your phone with.

The Nav is driven by Nav N Go iGO8 which you can have speed camera warnings and 7digit postcodes. Nav also has TMC.

Already mentioned is the integration with can-bus like the Columbus it will show nav arrows on maxidot, full use of MFSW, climate pop ups and PDC images.

Hope that helps some people.

With regards to the use of the zenec I find it flawless, a combination of the touch screen and its buttons I can use it while keeping my eyes on the road!
