The importer finally relented and supplied the dealer with two new xenon light controllers under warranty. The dealer installed yesterday.

It took almost two hours, as they are located under the headlights, so the headlights and inner front wheel liners needed to come off as well as the front bumper.

All happy now

Have you tried the "dim" switch? It ought to solve the problem.
