Help - How to reconnect grey Connector on firewall?

Featured Replies

This is a bit of a stab in the dark but I need some help please.

While looking for connector T11a/10 (used for cruise control), I came across a loose grey plug. I'm presuming I must have accidently released it but I don't recall 'fingering' it.

Trouble is, I can't get it to click back into place, it goes so far but won't go the last 2mm into the socket.

It's the circled connector in the diagram below. The connector carries 2 red wires and 2 red/white wires.

Anyone any tips on reinserting it? Perhaps it was never fully home and isn't used? (wishful thinking!)

Any information about what the connector carries might also be useful.

cant see the pic mate but im not sure what the connector is for.You do know you can extend the cc white wire that goes to the T11a to the ecu in the engine bay and splice it into the white wire in terminal 14 on the ecu?

Thanks for that, I did expect to be wiring into terminal 14 but thought I'd just take a quick look first for T11a.

Not sure why the image hasn't worked, here is the url which can be copied and pasted into the browser address bar.

I gave up trying to get the grey connector seated and decided to put everything else back together to see what happened. So far everything works fine and no faults are being found by vagcom, so I'm beginning to believe that the grey connector is unused and just sits in an empty space on the panel. Although of course, there may still be something I've forgotten to test.

Can anyone confirm what, if anything, the grey connector is used for?

roughly where abouts is this grey connector? does it have any wires going into it? If so i can check the wiring diagrams in the haynes for you!

The wiring diagrams in the haynes manual are a bit naff and incomplete. Search google for "briskoda mediafire service free" and you may find the original skoda ones available in pdf format to download ;) ;)

Fantastic, that's really useful. That's helped me identify the plug as T6w, which carries current to the glow plugs from the relay.

Now I just need to solve the problem of the connector plug not wanting to mate up with the socket correctly!

At least this has happened during the summer months, so I've got some time to fix it.

Thanks again for the diagrams, absolutely brilliant.
