Octavia 2006 cruise

Each time I first use the car I can switch on cruise control no problem. However then if during the journey I stop the car engine for a break, when i restart I cannot switch the control back on again. If I wait for some time, maybe more than an hr.then I can switch on again. i've read forums about switch faults but don't think this is a faulty switch as it never fails the 1st time. If keep driving and say have to switch off the cruise control due to traffic than again I can reselect no problem. I've checked with the agent and they just want to replace the switch at 140 pounds

I had CC retro-fitted (at a dealer) and sometimes get this problem. Will work in one journey, then after a restart it fails. However, if I switch off everything and restart the car, it normally comes back on.

The contact from stalk need to be cleanned.
