jammed door! help needed

Featured Replies

Hello people, I have another question for your vast wisdomess minds.

My rear near side passenger door has decided to lock itself and wont open from the inside or outside

I have no knowledge in this area what so ever, the only thing I would attemp to do is remove the trim

and have a go from the inside of the door but being as the door is closed I cant remove the trim!

If any of you have experienced this problem or have any tips at all i would much appreciate it.

Thanks.

Remove the large screws behind the handle (which you use to pull the door shut) [and tweeter unit - only relevant for the front doors], you can then break the plastic mounts which clip into the door (and have the panel screwed into via torx screws). These can be replaced for a few pennies each from your local dealer.

Start at the bottom of the panel, as it hinges at the top along window rub-strip.

I have never done this, but I am sure this is the method which has been mentioned in the past on here.

ive done it...be careful and you should be ok.....pull hard and firm and you may get away without breaking many clips...i broke 1.....when you get panel off you will have to take a hammer and chisel to the lock and smash it....sounds brutal i know but its the only way to get the door open as it will be dead locked....good luck.
