trouble getting my hands on the new vrs!

Featured Replies

hi all

i was just wondering if anyone else out there has been having problem getting your hands on the new vrs?

i currently own a special edition mk1 vrs and worked for the dealerships vw brance for a couple months so they know who i am as i also bought the car from them.

so heres my story

i walked into the dealership with a huge grin on my face and driving license in my pocket ready to book it for the drive and asked the sales man and he says due to the number of young kids that have been asking for a drive they have had to put a £500 deposit or order in before im allowed the keys!! it's down to them thinking that every youth is going to wheelspin and wreck the car :/

i walked out the show room angry and annoyed!

i am thinking about complaining to the manager and point my car out in the carpark and explain that i just wanna see what it's like and if i would want one (i would have to sell my vrs to cover the deposit) however i can afford the £500 but out of principle i don't want to pay it as they are putting a label on every young lad

i would like to note that i am 20 and am in a serious intrest in the new vrs however i am buying a vw corrardo g60 next week

is there any other skoda dealerships in somerset that offer test drives but with a little more trusting in people??

the dealership is in yeovil

many thank

simon

skoda fabia vrs se

vw corrado g60

So....If youre getting a VW Corrado next week, what are you having a test drive for if youre not interested in buying?

BTW..The car isnt officially launched until 29th July

because like i said i wanted to see what it was like being a vrs owner, anyways thanks for the personal finance advice, for all you know i could afford both :)

Thank you for being rude.

Perfectly simple question I thought.

BTW...Learn to type before you have a go back next time ;)

Good luck getting a test drive

i just wanted to see what it's like as i have drove the seat ibiza and loved it so could of been tempted,

the corrado is a second car option it's more of a weekendish car with the work im doing to it,

cheers i'll let you know what they say

You can drive ours if you like, bit of a trek but 'eh.

its nice to see someone willing to give me a set of keys for one :)

im keen to test drive it but going to chat to my dealership tomorrow about it,

how come your offering test drives already if it's not released yet? my dealer told me no one was meant to drive it until it's been released :/

saying that it was the same dealer that left my main power lead connection to my starter motor loose and then when fixing that left my negative battery terminal loose :o no joke!! also other things but the list is to long

I called in a dealers by chance 10 days ago to see it in the flesh, they couldnt wait to offer keys for a test drive (accompanied of course!) all on the hush hush ;) and no hint of trying to sell, was well impressed with dealers attitude, lets hope when I get a service its the same!

btw... I am not gloating, just showing my age...:giggle:

I like taking people out in the new vRS it really impresses people as it's quite nice to hear nice things about the products you are selling, plus I myself and still getting used to the new car and the more time I can spend with the car the better equipped to answer questions about it.

:UPDATE TO THE TEST DRIVE:

i had a very nice chat with the dealership manager today both cleared the air and voiced how we felt about the situation,

it turns out it was simply a confusion with insurance as they dont cover under 21's only 8 months out :(

they use the £500 deposit or order to put off people who just want to go and see the limits of what it can do and make it unsafe and keep maintance costs down as they will need to see it when they have finished,

speaking to the manager i can see his point for trying to put people off and i just hope that i can get coverd and see what the fuss is about and who knows a order may be made in the near future :)

also the dealership apologised for the mishaps with the workshop jobs and says he trys to get all jobs out first time and keep a 99% happy rating,

i shall post my thoughts of the drive when i have one :)

Clist and Rattle in Long Ashton Somerset have a white demonstrator and a red one in the showroom waiting for an owner, not sure if they have any restrictions on road tests.

Salesman Andy was very helpful to me when buying my 105TSi.
