Hello all,

we have just purchased a 2001 1.4 16v Fabia unseen. I have joined this forum to investigate the pitfalls of Fabia ownership.

The car we have bought has only 40,000 miles and has a FSH so I hope all will be well.

I have been concerned by some reports of piston ring failure on some of the early 1.4 16v engines. Does this affect a particuler version of the engine?

I will report more when the car is delivered.

I had a 2002 1.4 16v Fabia and i never had any piston ring failure on mine.
