Has anyone found LED lamps that can be fitted into the numberplate light holders that do NOT bring up a warning on the Canbus system?

I am looking to get some for my new vRS.

Yes.

I have some 6 SMD LED festoon bulbs in my 07 vRS.

No problems at all. They don't have any resistors in either. I just bought them off eBay as interior lights and got sent an extra set so tried them out of curiosity and they worked fine.

LED's definately won't work in the front sidelights, but that's because sidelights are monitored by the bulb failure warning system.

Ive attempted LED's in mine.. not long after i got the car.. Lights kept going out when testing, so i gave up .. i got mine from fleabay as well..

Would love to find some that do work and dont cost £15 each

I tried all sorts of so called CAN Bus friendly LEDs but they all set off the warning.

Do the big vw 's have them fitted? like the towrag or pheaton? ive seen on merc's / bmw .. are they after market? or standard?

Are number plate lights not monitored by the CANBUS? I was worried about putting LED interior lights into mine, until Carl convinced me there was no problem because those are not CANBUS monitored

(Really pleased I took your advice on this Carl, the LED's arrived yesterday, and look great when the car is unlocked at night!)

Your welcome mate. I think it looks good too as the whole ground is lit up now aswell.

Got to confess though i found out today that the Number Plate lights are monitored i had a message when i got in the car that one wasn't working. Thought it was odd as they were LED so took it out to check and the bulb had come away from the contacts. Been over a few bumpy roads recently. So bent the contacts in slightly put it back in and the light on the dash went out and all is working fine

Saw these on eBay - was thinking about getting some myself (but haven't yet).

Think they are what you may be looking for.
