Fault Code Help

Featured Replies

I have just started suffering some problems on my 56 plate Octavia vRS (BWA engine) and I was after some help of what to try first.

Bit of background first, at the weekend I carried out the following mods to the car:

1. Fitted a Neuspeed Pflo induction kit

2. Removed the Pre cat from the exhaust, but the left the main cat in place.

3. Fitted the uprated revision D divertor valve

4. Fitted SFS Intercooler hoses

The car was running fine until I set the cruise control at about 60mph the next day, then suddenly the power dropped, the ESP light on the clocks lit up, the ESP button lit up, the EPC light also lit up. I stopped the car and turned the engine off, checked under the bonnet for a blown off hose ect but all was fine. I restarted the engine and the EPC light remained on, all seems fine unless I use the cruise control again and the above will repeat.

I had the faults codes read today as shown below.

I have done a bit of research and the first 2 codes point to a leaking intercooler hose, the cold side hose I think, going to check this hose tomorrow. I will check its tight and maybe fit the original hose to eliminate if the uprated SFS hose is leaking ect.

I don't understand where the ABS fault code is coming from, any thoughts?

I had the fault codes reset this evening, and within 5 minutes it did it again, cruise control at about 60 and the above repeated itself.

Car now fixed.

It had an air leak caused by a muppet (me) who forgot to take the O ring seals off the old I/C hoses and put them on the new I/C ones.

Car goes very well now, cannot wait until it's remapped.

Glad to see you've got it sorted

  • 5 months later...

Octavia Vrs 2.0 56 plate

Epc light on

I had a missfire and traced it down a coil pack which i then replaced along with its neigbour (i read they work in pairs) and all fine.

A week later some numpty ran down the side of it so off to the bodyshop it went

2 weeks later it was returned only the EPC light on? and i cant get it off using vag.com, once i re-start the engine back it comes followed by the engine man light after a few re-starts - all drives perfect with no other issues?

The fault recoded is something like "upper limit exeeded... internal module" ill post the definate CODE when im back home

Oh, and the brake lights do work
