Passed MOT however advisory notes....

Featured Replies

Just had my VRS mot'd.... came through fine but the mechanic highlighted that both the front nearside and offside suspension arm rubber bushes are deteriorated and will need replacing soon. A couple of things;

1) How much is this roughly gonna set me back??

2) Should this have been picked up on it's annual service? had it serviced in April and surely they must have shown some wear and tear back then?

Cheers for any thoughts guys n gals...

ISTR it cost about 180 quid to get mine done - it's worth replacing the rear 'console' bushes with ones off the Ibiza Cupra, and you can get uprated ones for the front from somewhere like Powerflex, however the standard front ones last a lot longer anyway.

It's unfortunate it wasn't picked up at service, for sure, but I should imagine that a garage would only replace parts that had actually failed at services whereas the MoT tester will be looking for things that are on their way out as well. TBH, the state of the bushes on both our Fabias was picked up by me, not a mechanic...
